Being a Magician and a Fortune Teller
When my family decided to make the trek back to Phoenix, I hadn’t seen any advertisements for SNEAKY BIG Studios. I had only heard of it. But, knowing Mr. Parsons’ reputation for investing in top quality companies and facilities, I knew this place would be top notch. I was excited about the potential opportunity. I knew by working here, I would have the opportunity to work with some great people, experienced crew and a whole slew of talented individuals including athletes and actors, to CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies and beyond. What I didn’t fully realize is that I would be a part of a team with a very specific goal… “To Make Magic.”
Sounds a bit sarcastic, right? But, it’s true! You wouldn’t believe it. (*Paused writing to take a client call, where in fact they said, “You can work your magic.”) Inevitably, whether something exists or not, we need to create it and become a master of illusion or in my case, a producer. We need to make something where there was once nothing!
Coming from the agency world I was responsible for ideation and campaign creation. So, I know how incredibly challenging it can be to iron out all the minutia. I also know that every detail matters, from the creased corner of a napkin to delivering the right brand of water for your talent. EVERYTHING will likely be thought through BEFORE the day of production. As a producer, it is my job to be on point with all the details and to ensure that I provide a competent crew, a great facility, and when we have the opportunity, good direction for the talent.
As SNEAKY BIG continues to grow into different verticals, our need for fellow magicians is ever-increasing. Everyone on the team has the prerequisite of passion for the industry, but we all have different motivations. For me, it’s pretty straightforward. My passion is music and music video production. So when I had the opportunity to throw an idea into the hat it had to be based around music. I want nothing less than to create content that not only promotes artists but also contributes to the music community as a whole. Although we haven’t had the opportunity to roll out the series yet, we had an amazing test run with Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, which proved there are some teeth to this concept. We will be shooting multiple videos in many different scenarios, as time goes on. There is also a recording/LP side to this which will allow the content to be shared via Spotify, iTunes, etc. This content will be engaging and will heighten the awareness of diverse musicians and bands.
So whether it’s making magic for the next PXG commercial or creating a concept for a new idea, one thing is for certain, the sky is the limit, and the only restriction is our imaginations. The SNEAKY BIG team is excited. We love what we do, and we want to share that passion with you. I hope this article inspires you to take the next step in bringing your vision to life.
